There is a U.K. site called hotukdeals and there has been some really hot leasing deals popping up.

One is for a VW Arteon, 1.5 TSi, only it’s DSG ((all of the hot deals are auto:( )). £143.99 a month on a 24 month contract.

Ordinarily 36 month leases are the best between prices and duration of ownership, but these are not only good prices but they are on 18 and 24 month deals too.

I like the VW Arteon, it’s the stylish VW Passat which shares everything with the VW Passat and Skoda Superb.

They are bloody autos though. Never driven an auto, don’t really want to, but the prices. Grrrr.

Speaking of the Arteon, I am somewhat interested in this car. I am sure VW US might screw up by overpricing itthinking it’s an Audi, but the liftback/sportback whateverback design, US performance specs and interior seem to be good. I was watching this review just yesterday. It’s...nice (though I don’t want that piss color)

I really like the turmeric yellow metallic.

She’s the same as our Skoda Superb under the skin . She’s the closest the U.S. will get to the non-North American and Chinese VW Passat and/or the Skoda Superb. She’ll be nothing like the U.S. built North American or Chinese VW Passat.

There are some with 8,000 per year.

5,000 isn’t bad, both the Mk2 and Mk3 Superbs only did 16,500 miles in 36 months.

The S90 looks good, it’s the auto that’s sticking things the most.

I've already done 10k miles since last April, I drive about for work these days so it soon adds up. I'd need at least 14k miles to comfortably not go over.

The thing is, although I didn’t want it, it’s here and any separation/divorce leaves a lot of uncertainty so some things will be worse, some better, some un-expected and some already taken care of.

On a lighter note, did you know, every pool, is a paddling pool, if your a dog!?

148bhp. The same as my Superb.

It’s just more than enough get up and go for daily driving. It’s no rocket, but it is a big liftback. Had wheel spin a couple or so times when flooring the accelerator too hard .

Had ours for three years and it’s never struggled or wanted for power.

FWIW the manual transmission in my brother’s 2017 Jetta feels video game esque. Very little feel, pretty disconnected. I’d take an Arteon if just for that color.

Thanks, but both the last two cars have been Skoda Superbs (a 2013 Mk2 and a 2016 Mk3), both are VW manual gearboxes and like them.

The Superb can be had in a very similar colour, dragon green metallic , only on a higher spec, which is the Sportline.

Ooh, I like that last one quite a bit. Skodas are cool. Still not sure what market segment they’re supposed to be targeting. It just seems like VW competing with itself.

The Arteon replaces the Passat CC.

Thw VW Arteon and Passat and Skoda Superb share the same engines, transmissions and platform.

The Superb took quite a bit of sales from VW and the Arteon is to address that while keeping the Passat which is saloon and estate. The Arteon and Superb are liftback and estate forms.

Passat (world Passat ot North American and Chinese), Arteon and Superb.

It’s quite a busy segment the large family car segment.

BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E-Class, Audi A6, Volvo S90, Jaguar XF , Audi A6, Lexus ES, BMW 6 Series GT, Mercedes CLS, Ford Mondeo, Vauxhall Insignia, etc...

VW let SEAT and Skoda do their own thing to quite an extent, but Skoda and SEAT sales do take from VW a little so VW fight back as they don’t want to start limiting SEAT and Skoda, because the other marques may take those sales.

I feel like this has been in the pipeline for over a year! For gods sake they introduced and released the redesigned Jetta in less time than  it’s taken them to add the Arteon to the website saying it’s not available.

It is a good looking car.

It was released midway through 2017 I think.

Is or will be available in North America in 2.0 TSi auto only form with 268bhp.

Thats not bad at all. Will have to run it by her. All she wants is something new or newish that isn't as miserable on the motorway as her Pug 107. So it's a pretty low bar. Her favourite is the new shape Mégane so far.

At a 1.5 TSi with 148bhp, it’s no slouch on the motorway, with it’s size (not too big nor too small) you’ve plenty of space that will be less susceptible to side winds than smaller cars.

Shes signed up for alerts in the hope a deal on the Mégane turns up haha. The depreciation on them probably doesn’t link to good lease deals though. The Leon didnt quite appeal to her the same.

Friend’s husband loves his estate.

The last Megane I liked was this one, great lines, a pleasure to run your hands along when washing. Shame they face lifted it with that thing above.

I hope she finds the car she wants mate.
